Feeding fish mosquito larvae?

THIS IS TAKEN FROM WIKIPEDIA.

Chironomidae (informally known as chironomids or non-biting midges) are a family of nematoceran flies with a global distribution. They are closely related to the Ceratopogonidae, Simuliidae, and Thaumaleidae. Many species superficially resemble mosquitoes but they lack the wing scales and elongate mouthparts of the Culicidae. This is a large group of insects with over 5000 described species and 700 species in North America alone. Males are easily recognized by their plumose antennae. Adults are known as "lake flies" in parts of Canada and as "blind mosquitoes" in Florida, USA. Larvae can be found in almost any aquatic or semiaquatic habitat, including treeholes, bromeliads, rotting vegetation, soil, and in sewage and artificial containers. Larvae of some species are bright red in color due to hemoglobin; these are often known as "bloodworms".[1]
The family is divided into eleven subfamilies: Aphroteniinae, Buchonomyiinae, Chilenomyinae, Chironominae, Diamesinae, Orthocladiinae, Podonominae, Prodiamesinae, Tanypodinae, Telmatogetoninae, Usambaromyiinae.[2][3]

You apparently missed my point. My point was they are not mosquitoes. I don't doubt that people call them blind mosquitoes, but the fact is they are not really mosquitoes and you just don't want to admit that so you go and say, "oh umm umm well yea but people call they blind mosquitoes so so I am still right so there." :hi: :p: It irritates me when people are told the truth and they can't accept it. All you had to do was thank the person for correcting you, so that you didn't continue to spread misinformation, because that's what it is, misinformation. Go into the world knowing you learned something that day. That's all I ask. But hey no hard feelings.:)

Oh but I have to tell you. In every topic discussing bloodworms, there usually is at least one person who says that they are mosquito larvae. :thud:

Oh here's something also from wikipedia:

I never was grasping for threads to defend my point. I never really cared that much to begin with. In no way did I feel like "oh umm umm well yea but people call they blind mosquitoes so so I am still right so there." I knew the difference between Mosquitoes and Midges before I ever posted and have researched my fish foods in the past. I know the differences between their larvae and I never really cared. You have not enlightened me in any way and I was rather apathetic until now.

Midges are so dam close to Mosquitoes that it does not really matter when it comes down to fish food preferences.

To the guy that asked the question to begin with.

FOR ALL GENERAL PURPOSES BLOODWORMS ARE MOSQUITO LARVAE. White Mosquito larvae has more fat in it than Bloodworms. Buy them frozen for fear of parasites. Don't get them out of the wild. I don't care about anyones opinion about this either.

Look I misspelled Mosquitoe.... or is it Mosquito? You tell me.

:OT: <---so let's end this stupidity.
Whatever....Some people just can't handle the truth. They are still not the same thing no matter how you like to delude yourself. But, alas, no point in arguing with someone who doesn't want to see the light i suppose. *mumbles to self* cared enough to post about it...:shakehead: :nutkick:
