Hello!

I had two fancy goldfish and a dojo loach (I think?) in a 10 gal, but recently learned all about fish (doh.) and bought a 20 gallon for them. They -love- it. I want to plant it eventually... I'm trying to learn all I can about planting low-tech, and about ways to deal with the goldfish factor. I put up pictures of my guys in a profile album.

BUT, Dip, my white and orange fantail goldfish has kinks in his dorsal and anal fins... I've attached some pictures, too. Any comments/suggestions/ideas of why it happened are greatly appreciated!

I have one goldfish now, and have had some in the past, with bent tails and fins. I've heard from some places that it can happen when they get transported, if they are handled roughly they can get bent. Other times I hear its genetic.

What I do know is that it's almost always just cosmetic. The goldfish I've had with bent fins could always swim as good, if not better, then the rest. Then again I think all the goldfish I've had with bent fins are just hyper fish.

Also, that's a very nice tank! I like how planted it is, even if it's just fake plants (which I still like a lot, sometimes even more than real plants).

Thanks, guys. I figured it was probably genetic!

Lupin, I think he's handsome, too - even if he has 'lucky fin's! :D

And Sevast0, thanks! I love my tank, too! I can't wait to try a plant or two in there. :)
