i've never been bitten by a poisonous snake but i've been bitten several dozen times as a kid catching snakes in the bush.

I used to have the pleasure of clearing out the storage hangers of rattlers while in New Mexico. I didn't mind it and I didn't ever get bit. I was bitten only by non-posionous snakes. It still hurt...........

I have only seen a handful of snakes in the wild....

Seen a lot more in captivity.

I've been bit by NON-VENOMOUS snakes many times.

Remember kids, snakes can be venomous, not poisonous. ;)

MANY times by non-venomous snakes. One (luckily dry) bite from a Western Diamondback.

That must have been really frightening!
I've encountered timbers, copperheads, and water moccasins, and fortunately never been bitten. I always carry a snake bite kit when hiking and camping, just in case.

my favorite ball python attacked my nose.... felt like i got punched in the face. the force of him hurling 2/3's of his body at me hurt more than the teeth..!

and i can admint, it was totally my fault... as its the humans fault in most cases.. i had my rat on my shoulder five minutes before... stupidity on my part. and i was so good about that *most of the time...!

or maybe he was mad about his name being petunia....... ??

who knows...

I haven't. I'm actually surprised because I use to catch snakes for fun when I was little. Mostly harmless garder snakes but still, not a nibble. My boyfriend of the other hand...he's been bit several times. Last time was a copperhead but he survived.

a copperhead is the one of the least venomous in north america... :)
a grown child should even survive a bite from one of them.. the most id be worried about is losing a finger/toe/etc... unless my health was compromised in some way...
