Hello everyone,

I have a couple of questions.

1. I'm looking for some cories for my 10G tank. I saw some emerald cories the other day. The first thing I noticed was that they're a lot bigger than other cories. I did some reading and found out why....they really aren't cories at all. Anyway, is possible to have a couple of them in a 10G tank. The I only have 2 neons, 2 black neons and an oto right now. The tank is planted with some cover.

2. Can you keep a single cory? Many people say they need to be kept with others of their kind. I've also had people tell me that they'll do fine, as long as they have other fish (not necessarily bottom feeders) to hang out with. Could I keep a single emerald cory with my other tetras?

Thanks!!

i had one albino cory for about 2 months and he was just fine and doubled in size during that time... then about a month and ahalf ago i got 2 more, they definetly have not grown as fast, but i think that they definetly appreciate the company... although they don't school like tetras will, they are more like... "ok we'll all hang out for a few minutes and then split up and serach for food and then hang out again" haha sometimes they kind of play follow the leader around the tank. I think having more than 2 or 3 is definetly worth it -because you have a pretty smallload for your tank...

This is all in a 10g, by the way...

I had a couple of Juli cories in the past. They are great looking fish and they're very playfull. I'd like to have 2 or 3 emerald cories, but I don't know if they'll fit in a 10G. In terms of mass, they're probably twice the size of the Juli cories I used to have, maybe even bigger.

I have 3 Emeralds in my 10G and they get along famously and provide a LOT of entertainment. At some points they exhibit the natural catfish behavior of gulping for air at the top, and it's like watching a bomber squad move out one at a time. They follow each other and build up steam and then one at a time shoot up to the top to gulp some air one after the other.
