Are there any plants that are low maintenance that I can plant in my aquarium? I have good lighting just don't really want to deal with all the CO2 and fertilizer I just dont have the time or money (or desire :)) to deal with all that extra work. I would love to be able to integrate some live plants in with my fake ones to help my tank look nicer. Any advise would be great!

Java moss and java fern. Other so-called "easy" plants have perished in my care, but those two seem nearly impossible to kill.

I was shuffling things around and ended up with a tank empty of anything other than a leftover wad of java moss. I stacked something in front of it and forgot about it for a few months. No heat (and we let the place get down around 50*F at night in the winter), no water changes, no aeration, no filtration, no food, very very little light... and the stuff is still just as green and happy as it can be and at least doubled in size.

One more question: I was at petsmart today and saw they have Mossballs? What are these? they are about the size of a golf ball and look like balls of moss. If you get one do you just drop it in? can you divide it?

I bought two of these and I have low light. They seem to be doing just fine. I read you can divide them when they get big enough or develop a lump on them, I guess that is a baby moss ball developing. Some don't give off a lump but may get the size of a baseball and I've read that you can just cut them in half with a knife and roll them into two at that point. I'm still working on getting some low light plants myself. I don't live far from you..out in the modesto-ish area.
