SO I'm looking to DIY Co2 for my tank. I've tryed a few with only minamal out put.
The few I've tryed
1: 2L bottle
1 cup sugar
2 cups warm water
2 cups cold water
1 tsp yeast

2: 2L bottle
2 cups of sugar
2 cups warm water
2 cups cold water
1Tbs baking soda
1 package Yeast

3: 2L bottle
2 cups brown sugar
2 cups warm water
2 cups cold water
1 Tbs baking soda
1 Tbs Yeast

what other Diy recipes are out there?

I use
2 L bottle
2.5 cups of sugar (a whole domino sugar container)
1 tsp of yeast
and enough warm warmer to fill to the part of the bottle where it starts to curve in- so about 3 inches down
shake like crazy and then hook to system
I have a constant trickle of microbubbles off a limewood airstone that dissolve before they hit the surface, have no idea what my ppm of CO2 is on my 25 gal, but all my crypts has constant new growth, javamoss is exploding and the hornwart is being cut in half and replanted twice a week and I still have some floating on the surface on cutting day, and my microsword is spreading out quiet nicely with new runners every few days despite my weak lighting. (1.5 WPG)
It took about 24 hours before the yeast mixture was pumping out a steady stream of bubbles, and I switched to using rigid airline for underwater work, but I have a 25, which is 20 inches tall, so I tend to run into pressure issues even on airpumps unless I use rigid tubing.

ive heard of people adding just a pinch of orange juice to the mix, but i dont know about that.

I just scored me a 1 Gal. (3.78L) jug.
If I make twice as much in twice as big a bottle, will it work twice as much better. I'm rather disappointed buy the results I'm getting with a 2L bottle.
Scratch that. I'll try it and let you know how well it worked.

here is what i do
2 cups sugar
1\4 tsp yeast
1\2 tsp baking soda
and fill to the taper of the bottle with warm water
this last me for about a month and in my 5 gallon it drops my pH from 7.4 to 6.5 and it does a pretty job

Well, so far the results from the 1 gal bottle have been real sad, 1/2 bps. I'm hoping things get better in the morning.

So far it looks like BIGGER is NOT always BETTER. My best results have been with a 2L bottle 1 cup Dark Brown sugar, 1 tbs baking soda, 2 cups of warm water, 2 cups of cold water, 1 tsp Yeast.

im dead serious about the orange juice if anyones willing to try it. i remember it somewhere, i just got a new 2l bottle today so ill be trying it.

I'm going to leave these set for a bit to see how long they make Co2. I'll be sure to add some OJ next time around.
