Say, like, a school of 4 or 5. Could they thrive in a 20g long tank?

I know it's a long shot, but just thought I'd ask and get some opinions on it.

(Sorry for the double post, but my edit time ran out!)

I guess what I should be asking, really, is what's the minimum tank size for a small school of Congro Tetras? I've been reading online, and different sources say different things. Some sources say 30g, and some say 20g. Just like for my pearl gourami before getting it, some sources said 30g and some said 20g. He seems to be doing more than fine in my 20g long.

So, any input would be great. Thanks.

I would say 30 gallon aquarium minimum to keep a proper sized group.

What would you say is a proper-sized group?

i disagree. i raised 5 small .5" congo tetras in my 20 gallon high tank and grew them out to about 3.5-4". they were fine and did very, very well. a 20 gallon long would be fine for a small school of them.

also, they can exist without a group as towards the end, the other 4 were lost during a terrible storm in my area while 1 survived. he not only thrived but became somewhat militant towards the other fish (mollies, a platy, 2 paradise fish, and a few gouramis). go for it.
