Connect a hose to sink/shower?

That depends. What did you end up buying?

I'd keep it. That's what I use for 180G of water changes each week, and I love it. I did buy that metal adapter I posted after stripping the threads on the plastic one it comes with though. But until the plastic adapter gets stripped, you're all good. Just keep the metal one in mind when it comes time to replace that part. It's cheap enough, I'd recommend going ahead and grabbing it anyway, but that's entirely up to you.

Just treid it, seems ok except i did turn the knobs in the wrong ofder shutting it off and made a mess, but I guess i'll go with it, thanks all

Just be careful when filling the tank. If you use the valve on the part you use to clean the tank, make sure you are filling at a slow rate. If you are filling it fast at the end and close that valve, pressure will build and the hose could burst.

Good to know about the metal adapter. I havent felt any issues using the plastic one yet, but it is bound to happen eventually.
