Some updated pics of my adopted cockatoo Marley.

for those of you who don't know, he USED to pluck his feathers before he came to live with me.

so, he seems to be settling in! He should grow those back correct? He will be stunning if he does.

So he's wearing a bib in the second one?
Hope he does grow them back, he'll get a bit cocky with his good looks then (pun intended) :)

lol

the feathers on his chest will not grow back, it was confirmed by my vet that the folicles are permanantly damaged, he will continue to grow feathers around the bald spot, right now they are down feathers, regular feathers will grow over them and maybe cover up the bald spot.

and lol, its not a bib..its a sweater..it was freezing cold here that night, and he was shivering so we put that on him to keep him warm. they are mostly used with cockatoos who are plucking, but he does not pluck anymore..so we use it when he gets cold.

his wing and tail feathers will all grow back, he has tons of new wing feathers, but his flight feathers(the ones that are tattered) will take time to grow and get healthy again.

WELL, there is nothing wrong with a guy showing his chest every now and then, esp, since its hair free, lmao!

LOL, i still love him, feathers or not.

can't believe i put the nasty shot of his cage in that set..it was cleaned the next day..and look at the dirty 15 year old chair...:wall:

What kind of cockatoo is that?

It isn't the standard yellow-crested one.

I know someone with the type you have.

"yellow cresteds" are sulphur(or sulfur) crested cockatoos

Marley is an Umbrella Cockatoo

that cage is gross and lookit that chair!! hehehe, just kidding, King. The bird looks like he is settling in well. So glad you took him on and he looks adorable with his sweater on.
