Cheapest source for fishtank gravel?

I'm sure this topic has come up many times before. Working on setting up more prawn tanks on a budget and I'd like to come up with a solution for gravel substrate that doesn't break the bank. $4 for 5 lbs of PetCo gravel seems like a huge ripoff.

Color not necessarily a factor. White, black, or brown.

I was thinking of hitting up Home Depot and seeing if I can get a 20lb bag of their white or blue gravel usually used for landscaping purposes. Yay or nay?

Or find a tractor supply co and find some " Black Diamond" sand blasting slag. 50lbs about $8. All black and it helps make your shrimps stand out

me too.. just gotta wash it like a ton.. but cheap as hell, like 4 dollars for a ginormous bag lol

I'm a pool filter sand fan, not the absolute cheapest but at ~$10 for 50lbs it's still good.
