Definately go with Thorichthys pasiones!! They are one of the most awesome Thorichthys i have ever kept! LOVE their colors! Its crazy how their fins get elongated, never seen a fish get elongated pectoral fins! The trailers are top notch also. Got three of them right now, the female can't make up her mind which male she likes better. Their breeding coloration is pretty cool also, the pelvic and anal fin get a black edge to it, and their throats and gills turn black...very cool looking if i do say so.
As for other fish. Going CA does make it a little bit more limited for breeding, as they generally are more aggressive than SA. The big bruisers are pretty much out if you want to have several breeding groups. I would say Viejas, but they are way to aggressive. If you were doing a single species I would definately say Amphilophus robertsoni if you could find them! Just amazing fish!
