Hey guys, I've been feeding my Jack Dempsey cichlid cat food kibbles for about a 3 months now. He's still alive but I wanted to know if there was any problems as long as he kept eating it. He has gotten pretty big and has teeth and everything (bout 3-4 inches, the fish, not the teeth) I used to do the wardley total tropical flakes but it was a joke watching him try and get enough food. I eventually started grabbing huge chunks of the flakes, dipping them in the water and then dropping them in a clump for him to chomp up. I got tired of having smelly fingers and saw the cat food out of the corner of my eye. He didn't like them too much at first but then after it was all he got I guess he just got hungry and went for the kibbles! Talk about cheap fish food... Well prettymuch I was just wondering if I should supplement the catfood with anything else, I figured if it worked for my cat it should work for my fish, why not?
Well thats all for now. Ahh yeah another funny anecdote, I gave him a tiny gold fish to eat and the thing swam there for a whole day and the stupid jack didnt eat him! Eventually I just went back to catfood and took the goldfish out.
