Cant find cheap used 30-60 Power Filters

I cant believe it :mad2: I must have searched for a week on Ebay and couldn't find any adds, now I know your a Free-Mason and made a call to the society just to get that add posted lol. Its almost creepy :irked:.

Im currently trying to work out a deal-deal with petluvr's 3, since I have 7 operating and no spares I probubly should have more then 1 extra on hand.

I'm not certain about this, but if your'e looking for a Whisper filter, then Petsmart's line of filters (the TOP FIN brand) are Whisper filters. I don't know if that's what your'e looking for, but they're really cheap.

You can say that last part again lol. No actually of the 7 PF's I have in operation I have 1 old Whisper, It does the job but as far as large PF's go, they have the smallest magnet and impeller I have seen and it shows in the slow flow. having experienced the AC's, Penguins, Aqua-Tech, and Whisper, I decided to buy another new Aqua-Tech. Too soon unfortunately because I just got a great deal from a member on 3 working used ones for only $35 shipped. Oh well with soon to be 8 in operation 3 spares will be important, especially with so such large plant stocks depending on them to grow. It not like having a simple filter quite for a couple days, my giant Pothos plants need those PF's to be working 24/7 to pull nitrates and live.

:hitting::rofl: I agree that they are pretty cheap. I got one out of a kit for my 55 that I had to add on to with plenty of extra filters. Says 300gph, weather that's true or not I'm not sure of. I own 2 other ones, a 10 and 20 (ask why, they were 10 bucks and I decided to go for it to use as an extra biofilter that I filled up with sponge). No problems, but no expectations there really. I just have them and use them because of $$ and because I really didn't need anything heavy duty for just that extra filtration I need. The Walmart ones seem good and (price) cheap, just wish that I had a Walmart within 50 miles of my house.

Having been offered the three large used PF's (2 Aqua-tech & 1 Whisper) for just a second I though about repacking and resealing the Aqua-tech I bought at Walymart for $35, but it OK it teaches me to ask first before jumping the gun. You know I do believe PetSmart charges a pretty penny for even large Whispers PF's like $50 for the big one. When it comes to saving money there are few times I venture that store. I wish we had a Petco closer, I had to drive 30 miles to take advantage of the $1 a gallon tank sale they had, which took care of all my small sump tank needs.

Agree that Petco is much better than Petsmart and often does have much better prices. The one closest to me is 10 miles out and is as small as a LFS so I do get down there, but with Petsmart just 2 miles away and as big as a Target I'm always inclined to go there, and when I walked into Petco for the $/gallon sale I feel like I should never go back to Petsmart. I got a $20 airpump that would have cost $35 at petsmart and a $29 tank that I would have paid $90 for at Petsmart.
