Can I keep a red oscar with a gold chinese algae eater?

I think that the oscar may view the algae eater as an extra long minnow so that may be a no-go. It might also be easier if you can give dimensions to your aquarium, it could help in regards to the black ghost knofe.

Oh change that to a 125 gallon with 2 oscars and a bgk.

I had one for about three months and gave it to a friend because it wouldn't touch my algae after a certain size.

They DO eat algae but only while young. As they mature they eat less and less. Yes, at some point the Oscars would view them as a snack.
