Can a dojo loach or any bottom feeder for that matter live in a tank with a hammers blue lobster - adult size 5". The lfs discription of the lobster says it will not bother fish unless they are small and slow. But then again, the loach would be right down there with it.

From what ive been told, you should only place fast moving fish that do not spend most of their time at the bottom, as the lobster could snap if it feels threatened at any time.

So in other words, no, i would not keep them together. However, im just going by what ive heard.

The Hammers Cobalt Blue Lobster is generally peaceful, except with its own kind. They will not typically bother fish, unless they are very small, and slow enough for the lobster to catch.

My dojo's are both peaceful souls that sleep curled up together at the base of plants. I would not put a lobster in with them, they would not be able to sleep peacefully, and would be stressed as a result. As said above, fast swimmers and top dwellers and no long finned fish is best, and plenty of escape room for the fish too. :)

My 5" blue cray could not stand anything eel shaped, or long and skiny (farowellas). he would grab them and eat them alive, tail first!

Its a cray fish  !!!

also they can not be kept with long finned fish. even LF danios! I tried it and one ended up without a tail

Thanks for the info.

I know its a cray fish....its not my fault someone named it a lobster. But it sure is a lot prettier than the cray fish swimming in the ditches where I grew up.

I'll keep that in mind.
I think I'll stick to the loach and some day I'll get a tank just for a lobster/crayfish. :)
