I would like to raise the temp. of my tank from 84 to 86 degrees. I've recently upped the temp. of the tank from 82 to 84 and the Blue Ram really seems to have responded very well to it. I would like to up it to 86 degrees because I know that is the optimum temp. for the Ram, but I don't want to put the Cardinals in danger because they are gorgeous.

Any advice at all would be a great help!

i've heard that the best temp for GBRs is 78-80 for optimal health.

also that temps above 80 will bring out the colors a lot because it raises their metabolism and therefore they die sooner

I always heard Blue rams do ok at 78-80, but THRIVE at 82-84.

Olibhear, these backwards yanks do insist on using their outdated Fahrenheit measurements, so the rest of us must make allowances for them.

They'll catch up one day.
I know you're joking, but I'll still give you a: .

It's great to hear that the Cardinals will thrive in that temperature. I'll keep you all updated as to how it goes.

the cards will be fine at 86.

the rams need to be in that warm water ..they can survive but may stress at temps below 80.
