I am planning on getting 2 bristlenose plecos, and am just wondering if this is a good number for them, if not then what is a good number. thanks.

We had 2 in the 80 and they didn't get along, down to 1 now .........:)

do you know if they were both males? i heard they could be territorial. thanks
No, they were to small to tell at the time.....:)

I have 3 Juvies (1 1/2") in a 29 which seem to hang out together. They'll be moving to a 55 soon though.

All male plecos are territorial. If you have sufficient space and and well spaced caves for each male, they can co-exist in multiples in a tank. They each need their own territory and cave to do so. I doubt you should have any problems keeping two males in 55. That said, there are no universals when it comes to fish and only time will tell if you happen to have two that simply cant be together. it does happen. The more cover in the form of wood, rocks and plants you have, the easier it is for them to cohabit peacefully. Besure to put their food in so they each have some near their cave which will mitigate any arguements over food.

ok. thanks for all the good answers. i guess ill stick with 2 then. thanks again!

We just purchased one bushynose catfish and I was wondering if we will ever see it in the daytime.

i have never had any agression even with males but i guess i have different species. in my 125 i now have 3 albinos and in my 46 3 small commons

I have 3 smaller plecos in my 40 gallon breeder. 2 BN's and 1 rubberlip. The two BNs are both male and get along fine. They each have there own area on opposite corners of the tank, maybe I'm just lucky. They are fairly young still. My bristlenoses are very active all day.
