bolivian rams and german blue's living together

no i wasn't going to get a pair of both, that was never an option.
i could heat up the tank a bit, i dont think myother fish would mind. or i could take a look at bolivians and see if i like them enough, i just really like the blue and whatnot on german blue's

HUH??

Bolivian Rams are only slightly larger than Blue Rams and you can keep a pair in a 20.
the male bolivian can reach slightly larger than 3" but that is the exception more than the rule..they do get to 3" easily tho. GBR's are not as large..but they can make up for it with attitude.
bolivians IME are not as agressive as GBR's but cichlids being cichlids..they can all have attitude.

As I said, just my opinion. I thought having both types (I misunderstood his post I guess) of rams in a 20 gal would be too much and they would get territorial. I like blue's better, hence my suggestion for the blue's.

thanks to everyone that posted. i think now it's just my choice time....
decisions decisions....i'll post back

i was just at petco and they had one german blue ram...and i was extremely tempted, but somehow i wrenched myself away without buying,
firstly, their ph was at least ~.6 different than mine, secondly, he looked like there was a slight chance of maybe having ich, and i didn't wanna take any chances. so i'm going to the good fish store that's a shlep next week or some time to look at german blues and bolivians, and to decide.

i think you (and fish) would enjoy your tank more if you had a male and female of one or the other
not both
they are very aggressive toward each other
go to a fish store that knows male from females!
or aquabid
good luck

thanks. i'm actually having a friend pick one german blue up for me today, and i'm gonna have it at around 3:30, and then start the drip acclimation. i'm getting one to see how it does in my tank, and if in about a week and a half if he or she is doing well i'm gonna get another one, hopefuly of the other sex

thanks
