I found my black-light today in my basement so im like hmm what would think look like over the tank? So i open the hood and sit it there so its just over the water. It looks AWESOME, it looks like a real moon shining to me. My water is CRYSTAL clear with my regular florescent light over it , yet it gives it a greenish/dirty tint to it, kind of reminds me of a pond. Now the cool thing is my small pleco (about 4 inches) only comes out when its PITCH dark, if I turn my room light on, he goes right back into his cave, as soon as I turn it back out, Ill turn it back on in like 30 seconds to see if he's out, and sure enough, he is, well with the blacklight over it, he actually came out! So I know they don't think its TO bright to be a real light, its pretty cool. Its a 20 gallon and the tube is a little longer than the tank. I tried it with my 55, but it barely made a difference, its just to deep. My question is if theres anything wrong with this, anything bad about the rays its giving off and what not? I intentionally had it out because I wan ted to try it with my nocturnal tree frog, but I could see that his pupils got thin so it was to bright for him, but with the water its not at all, I tried to take a pic of it, but my camera isn't so good at catching stuff when the rooms completely dark --
heres the pics with the LOW-LIGHT level mode on, you can see the greenish tint to it
heres some more pics, but it doesnt look blue/purple AT ALL, but it gives you an idea on how the light is casted
