Just a fyi, i have 1 lone black molly in my tank, and am so amazed how much algae it cleans up.

Before I had the molly, i never considered them to be any type of algae control fish. I have a tons of stem plants that goes all the way to the water surface, and there are always a small amount of algae on all the petals by the water surface, oto/shrimp/snail/sae doesnt clean them since they dont like/cant goto the surface. But the lone molly, ate all of it! now all my petals are crystal clear of algae.

Also it ate all the surface scum too.

This is definitely going up the ranks as one of my favorite planted tank fish.

are mollies hardy fish? because some of my plants are a little hairy but my tank isnt fully cycled yet. gettin there though.

Mollies were actually the first fish I ever bought (in a 2.5, noob mistake) but they still are one of my favorite fish. Thinking about getting a Sailfin Molly.

They are good algae eaters, now if they only had a sucket mouth too! LOL! I was quite surprised that they go over all the leaves eating it, I think what I had at the time was staghorn algae.

Mine must be spoiled...They cleaned up some algae the first week and then completely ignored it.
