There might be a Con or two in the tank next year...I'm okay with extra filtration and more water changes if need be...

But right now I need to know what the best, commonly available foods for Cons are!

ahh any old thing will do....what you wanna do is raise em up get em to breed then use their babies as food for everything else you own...great protein...disease free feeders!!

ive heard thats a good way to use them, anyone else know anything about that?

ITS MY THREAD! we HAVE control of the cockpit, if you mess with me the pilot is gonna get it! *roar*

DEMON_SURFER thats a good idea i already do that with my brother he breeds convicts and i breed blue acars anmd they both breed like crazy, blue acaras seem to breed more, but thats ok the convicts he has love to chase the blue acars fry and chomp on them!

oh yea sorry, got caught up in the breeding/feeding.

my brother feeds his cons a lot of different foods. he feeds tetra flake and pellets, frozen blood worms, frozen beef heart, frozen plankton, staple flakes, spirulina flake, and tetra tropical granuals.

I use for flake:
Ocean Nutrition Cichlid Omni Formula
Ocean Nutrition Formula Two Algae based Flake
(both are dusted with spirulina powder)

pellet:
Hikari Cichlid Gold
Hikari Carnivore
Spirulina discs and pellets
Wardley Shrimp Pellets

frozen:
Bloodworms
Krill
Cichlid Chow
Spirulina
Tropical Mega

fresh:
shrimp
tilapia
largemouth bass

live:
ghost shrimp
brine

I feed randomly and mix it up. Only the large cichlids don't get the live brine thats only for the severums and my juvi trimac and festae.

Wow...anything goes, eh? Thanks for all the advice...I've gotta check out the LFS to see what they've got, and report back with that! :)
