Are snail supposed to just drop off side of tank?

Are snail supposed to just drop off side of tank?
I noticed my snail will be moving up the side of the tank then he will just drop off and fall to the bottom. Is this normal?

I would say yes. I don't know what kind of snail you have but I have some mystery snails and they do that regularly. I figure it's normal.

Mine do that too. Rather like they figure, ok...done with that spot...time to check out the bottom or let the water take them somewhere else.

Yuppers. All of my snails do that all of the time. I suppose when you're that slow it must feel like a rollercoaster ride to them. LOL Weeee!!!!

Guess I wont worry. He allways seemed okay after. I would think their soft bodys would get hurt. I belive its an apple snail. I did see it do that snorkeling thing yesterday.

I only have 1 snail. Do they get lonly? Should I get it a friend?

I dont know about lonly by they will breed fast.Take that in mind if you get him or her a friend.

I've had 3 mystery snails together for several months now and I haven't had them breed once. Which is fine with me!

mine used to do it all the time. i guess its a faster way of getting down. it wouldn't hurt to add another mystery snail, hopefully it will be of the same sex. and even if it isn't, apple snails don't breed very much and when they do, their eggs are visible and laid above the surface so you can pick them off and throw it away.

My mystery snail does that all the time. When he is not foraging for food, he will constantly go up the glass to the top of the tank, then let go and fall down, over, and over again. It must be fun for them to do.
