Archer Fish (Toxotes Blythii)

No I don't know anything about them bit they are very cool looking

Generic advice with top dwelling fish: make sure they can't jump out of the tank. Thats about all I can help with though, sorry.

I have kept them, they are Brackish and do much better when kept in brackish tanks..

I only filled my tank about 2/3 full with branches coming out of the water. I would feed crickets and watch as they were "shot" off the branches. Use marine salt mix to make the water brackish. Using aquarium salts do nothing but make salty water.

Can you elaborate? I don't have a salt water setup but I'm wondering what you mean by 'just salty water' versus marine salt?

Just wondered =)

Marine salts are more then just salt, they contain minerals and such that aquarium salt doesn't have (at least, thats what I've been told).

Ah ok, I see what you're saying.

This is exactly right, Marine salt mix contains minerals and trace elements that are beneficial to the fish. Get yourself a hydrometer or refractometer that will tell you the exact salinity of the water. You can simply add a little salt mix at a time with each water change till you reach the correct salt levels..

They love crickets. When they get bigger you can feed them baby roaches as well...

ALL articles I have read indicate that blythii are true freshwater archers. do not need to be transitioned to salt as they mature.
