Anyone have a bengle/ocicat?

I found a kitten about 3-4 weeks old a year ago on the shoulder of a highway on my way home from work... The vet said he appears to be a Bengal mix because of his spotting on his sides. I sure love him dearly, but he is hyper!! He eats everything he can get his mouth on, plastic, rubber bands, ANYTHING. We always have to always watch him and keep everything out of his reach for his safety and shut him in a "cat proof" room when no one is home. He especially LOVES spirulina fish flakes! I've caught him grab and take off with my bag of fish food so many times when I was feeding fish and set it down for a second... He also wants to climb and jump off of everything. He loves to be carried around, but rolls on his back because he likes to look at the world upside down. He'll jump in the shower at every opportunity he can get. He's the naughtiest yet most lovable cat ever! I think I own the feline match of "Marley and Me." Anyway, no guarantee on what he is or if he really has any bengal, but just thought I'd share my experiences.

LOL, from what I have read about them....sounds like that's what ya got!!!

Steph, awwww yours are beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing!

Ice, I was looking at some info in the rescue site I have been looking at and came across something I thought I'd share with ya for future reference.

It says bengals are not considered wild animals, the are considered domestic cats. Because they are 4 generations from the asian leopard.

True IF you get one that isn't early F generation. Most you find that are pet quality will be 5th generation or more. But some of the forum members had F2s and 3s.

Ahhh, I see...yes that makes sense and I could see where those may be considered "exotic".

The wife and I recently added a Bengal to hang out with our 5yo cats. The older cats are both females and the new Bengal is a male. So far they keep the bickering to a minimum but don't care for the new guy much. At 4 months he already weighs in a 8.5lbs and the vet told us to expect around 20ish when he is full grown. I will need to take some pics and post them up.

Salem is beautiful Victor!!

Just thought I would update. After considering everything, I ended up not getting the kittens at this time. I still plan to get some, jst thought it would be best to wait until I get moved first. In the end I'm glad I did wait as the house we were looking at and planning to buy feel through, after the inspector went through...well it would of been to much work/expense and not worth it.

Thank you everyone for your input, and I can't wait to be able to add one/two to our family!!

My domestic shorthair Simon does that. Very polite through he will bring me the fish food if I accidently leave it out and ask me to open it for him and give him some..lol

Good luck on the search I always wanted to try Bengals maybe in the years to come...

Beautiful kitties everyone. My two cats are just domestic shorthairs, but they both have pretty gorgeous patterns especially Chiro (he is the lighter of the two) him I kinda inherited him, he is named Chiro as in Chiropractic for the "hands" pattern of either side of his face and Simon is short for Simon Says, him I have had since he was a kitten.

Today, I met in person my first Bengel and I have to say, I now know the fascination over these cats. The pictures cannot do the true justice that seeing them in person dows. They truely look like mini-tigers. Their fur is oh so soft, and they are such characters.... I am sold. There is no cat like them!
