A few months ago, one of my guppies had babies. I don't know why, but I saved what I could find, which was 4 of them. they turned out to be just beautiful. But I really didn't need any more fish in the tank, so I told myself that when another fish has babies, I'll just let the angels eat them.

Well... last week my only platy had babies. I saw them coming out. I grabbed a net and scooped it up. Then another, then another. I "saved" 9 of them and put them in my shrimp tank. As I looked at them, I saw their beautiful big shiny eyes, but didn't realize fully that I have 9 new fish! 9!

So a week later (today) was clean the Xp3 day, and when I take the top off and look in, there are 3 more baby platys! I couldn't just dump them down the drain, so now I have 12.

12 more fish!!!

But they are so cute and they are starting to look different, some are all black, some are yellow with black tails, some are gold. The 3 from the filter are alot smaller then the others, I can't belived they survived a week in there.

What am I going to do with 12 more fish? Why do I keep "saving" them instead of letting the others eat them? why can't I just walk away when I see their big black eyes?

your geat. i can do it, but my fiance "saves" em all.

Some petstores will take your excess fish in exchange for store credit. Of course, what happens to them after that is anybody's guess.

same thing with my guppies i found only one and i saved it,then i saved 26 .i put them in a net for fry but i was left with ten because all the others either jumped into the jaws of my angelfish or into the filter.that did make angry because i lost some beatiful males.now i leave them in the tank so my angelfish have something to play with

phew try feeding 2 dozen guppies full of lil babies to 2 bichir's in front of your "save em all" fiance lol.

I never see the fry i just see a slim female guppy and i know my angels had a nice snack.I once saw one trying to hide from my angelfish near my apple snail. he was so busy checking the angelfish, which was spinning round the snail, he didn't notice the slow mouth of the snail
