I am considering getting a Algae Eater for my 35G. Any recommendations?

I would prefer a social one that wouldn't mind my Dojo Loach.

well... I would look into getting rid of your dojo loach, as they grow to be 10" long.

I would reccomend a BN pleco or an SAE.

Oopsie. I should have updated my siggy. Its a male dojo loach and they usually don't grow larger than 5-6". I got them from a friend who breeds them. I was going to give it back to him if it turned out to be a female. And even the females here rarely grow past 8" in the best conditions.

I am familar with the BN pleco, but what is a SAE? I think I maybe have heard that some where before. I heard they eat less algae as they grow older and get territorial.

Sorry, I meant what kind of algae are you dealing with. Some fish only eat certain types of algae, thats why I ask.

Heh, sorry I am not a big expert on algae. I don't have any green algae. Most of my algae is on my filters and tubes and resembles a brownish color (goes to double check). I rarely get algae on my glass or decor. At least none I can see.

there are a few smaller plecos but i would go with a few ottos. like Bunny13 said they stay small and fun to watch.

Would you be able to post a link or two about them? I would like to do some reading on them :) I also haven't seen what they look like.

Edit: And I will also be posting the algae pic. Hopefully ottos are big/strong enough that the filter doesn't bother them. My drawf platies don't seem to mind picking at the filter.
