Hey guys I have another question in reference to the freshwater fish I got from my friend. There is an albino rainbow shark very pretty most colorful thing in the tank so far and I love it.

The problem is I don’t know allot about these or any freshwater fish really im more into the saltwater anyway I never see it come out from hiding. It just stays in the corner I thought this would change when I moved all the fish from a 20gallon to a 40 gallon but it did not. Another thing is he "sleeps" vertical head to the ground tail facing up. I have never seen this before and im wondering if that’s normal for this type of fish or if he just adapted to sleeping like that because it was the only way he would fit in the old 20gallon tank. anyway I will post a pic soon just tell me what you know. Thanks

Try this link for some information on Rainbow Sharks. When mine goes into hiding it is a good sign to me that I need to do a water change. Test the levels of your water.

hmm thanks Web Gazelle but they did not say if they sleep vertical. he/she does not seem to mind sleeping that way i was just curius

Both of my Rainbow Sharks (non-albino) sleep vertically quite regularly. Sometimes face up and sometime face down!

My Rainbow Shark (not albino) also hovers vertically for long periods of time but he usually sleeps in his cave. From experience Rainbow Sharks certainly have some odd behaviours so I'd say he's acting normally for a RS :).
