I'm considering getting a trio of kuhli loaches for a small setup with a female betta mentioned in another thread. I was doing some online research on them and found them come in an albino variation that I've never seen before. How easily obtainable is this albino kuhli loach?.

kuhli loaches wont do so well in small tanks. IMO, you'd need at least 20-30 gallons.

#1; Not what I read about them online.
#2: If it's a comment on the size of tank I'm using, why comment in THIS thread and not the one describing my setup?.

i don't understand your defensiveness, OP.. they were simple questions asking what size the tank was going to be, since you didn't mention it.

If pointing out proper etiquette is being defensive, so be it. On some forums, this behavior is grounds for a warning as hi- jacking someones' topic is considered rude.

The subject of my topic is the availability of albino kuhli loaches.
Please make your own topic if you want to discuss something other then what the OP posted or in this case take it the topic already discussing that subject.

While I understand the frustration at off topic questions some do think it is relevant. We don't want to say yes you can find them easily or point you to a place to buy them then find out you have a 5 gallon tank.

If you want people to not ask about tank size then put it in your signature along with the inhabitants.

Glad I don't belong to some stuff shirt forum where they'd rather warn you then look out for the best interest of the fish in question.

Some places you can't trust. There's a site that says bettas come from mud puddles. Would you trust something like that?

^^^ Excellant point.

Why not ask you about the size tank? Because Kuhlis get 3-4", need groups of at least 4, and arn't suitable to anything less than a 20g long. Like another member said, we don't want to tell you it's okay and then have you put them in a 5 or 10g, and when someone says "Hey, they can't be in there", you blame it on us.

It is not hi-jacking the thread when someone asks about a fish that needs a decent sized tank and mentions it's a small tank it's going in and someone asks how small. They are asking for the health of the fish.
