How far away is the Outside receptacle? If its not too far just use 12ga (2) conductor with ground direct burial cable to a weather proof receptacle box mounted on a post near your pump. On the other end of the cable install a male (3) prong plug. Just bury the cable at least 16 inches deep.

By the FL Electrical code its an extension cord and not a new circuit.

So if I get a solar pump and have a fountain or waterfall, do I also need a filter or will the plants take care of filtration? I've used freshwater clams in a container pond and they kept it really clean so I'd put a bunch if them in too.
