75 gallon (us) filter recommendations?

Canister? Hang-on-back? Do you have a preference?
On my 75, I run a Marineland C-360 canister and a Seachem Tidal 110 HOB. The C-360 has been in continual service for 12yrs. The Tidal 110 maybe 6-7yrs.

I see I see, I’m like my gonna go for a canister, I didn’t know you could use a hang on the back for such a large tank?
Canisters tend to be your best option for many reasons. I've used Ehiem classics, Sunsun, Marineland and Penn Plax.
The only HOBs I've found that will fit the top frame of standard 75s are the AquaClear 110 or Seachem Tidal 110. I believe Marineland used to sell a big one too. Not sure if they still do.
The Seachem 110 I mail ordered. It's been a great filter. The odd shape of the media basket makes making your own media fit tightly a challenge. For this reason, I've only ever used their sponge media w/ my own bio bags on top of the sponge. The other thing I don't like with the Seachem is the pump/motor sits in the tank. It takes up space and looks ugly. For these reasons I would recommend an Aquaclear 110 over the Tidal.
I have setups where the canister is on the floor, out in the open, off to the side of the tank(s), because it can't be placed underneath. If you figure HOB is the way to go for you, I wouldn't hesitate to use the Tidal 110 or two on a 75. I like having at least two filters on tanks 55g an up in the event one fails.
I had a pair of 75s for some time now it is just one. I had an Eheim Pro II 2026 canister and couple of powerheads with bigh intake sponges on one. Ome the other I had the same canister but also an AquaClear 300. I had to cut out a small piece of the frame to make the 300 fit. It was not a big deal as I have Dremel 3000 tool kit with al sorts of cutting disks and other items.
If you get a canister I suggest your also get an inline heater. I used Hydor but theyseem to be discontinued. I have the 300w one. You may be able to find them on Ebay or similar. I have had mine for years and they may be discontinued. So look for another brand.

I had to remove the "lip" on my 75g rim (by using a Dremel like 2tank) I've used Aqua Clear HOBs & Rena 3s (now some other brand) canister. From what I read Eheim's are not as good as they used to be. I have a small Pro Classic I haven't set up yet, but you'd need 2 probably. I like having 2 filters on most tanks so I can clean 1 & the other in a couple weeks or so.
I think they're not available anymore, but it was suggested I get H.O.T. Magnums can fit the wide rims. Maybe on the secondary market?
Used filters I'm ok with but not used heaters. Heaters are the weakest part of our aquarium hobby IMO.
