FINALLY found and affordable 75 gallon for my kissing gourami. I would like to put something else in the tank besides just him. I don't think I can do other kissing gourami because I would probably need at least 2 or 3 more and the ones available to me are much too small in comparison.

Can anyone suggest tank mates for me? Or am I better off just leaving him alone with some snails?

I have had some aggression issues w/more than one kisser. I have my kisser in the community tank w/ lotsa others. I have sevs, angels, cories, ropefish, bichir, a brown knife, spotted raph cat, striped raph cat, and an albino channel cat. I think theres still some platties and swordtails in there too. so, in a 75 I'd go with several smaller fishes and maybe a couple of other big guys, like sevs or silver dollars. I always recommend cories~there my fav. freshwater fish!!!!

I forgot to mention, he's pretty aggresive especially at feeding time. I was keeping him in a 30 gallon community tank till i could find something else, but he attacked the cories and chased danios (although he could never catch them). I'm sure the larger tank will help with the aggression some, but other fish need to be either large or very fast.
Severums, angels, and silver dollars might work.
I know silver dollars school, but what about sevs and angels. Sorry don't have any experience with larger fish.

Geophagus, Severums, Uarus, Angelfish, chocolate cichlid come to mind for cichlids.....
Striped Raphel catfish, corys, Sydontis, etc... come to mind for catfish....
Silverdollars, tinfoil barbs, Redtail Shark, Tiger barbs, etc...for community fish
ABF(African butterfly fish), bichirs, puffer fish, other gouramis come to mind for oddballs.

I recently restocked my 55 gallon tank, and am noticing some aggressive tactics from one of my kissing gourami as well. Right now I have 12 zebra danios, 2 kissing gourami, 2 dwarf gourami, 2 gold gorami, 2 lavendar gourami, 3 dwarf rainbow fish, 1 rainbow shark and 3 plecostomas. So far they seem to be doing pretty well together, but there is 1 kissing gourami who likes to chase the other fish. I can't tell if he's just playing or being a bit aggressive.

severum, geo, angels and uaru will get beat en up by this kissing gourami by the temperament it sounds like it has. plus, the 75 gallon tank really wont be big enough for another substantial fish like a geo, uaru, sev, or cocolate cichlid once the gourami is grown.

corydoras will not work in a kissing gourami tank, especially since the OP already noted that the gourami attacked the corydoras in the 30 gallon community.

silver dollars might work, but they get pretty large and need to be in schools. there really isnt enough room for a school of them when the kissing gourami is fully grown.

tinfoil barbs just get way too big for a 75 when kept in a school like they should. 180 minimum for a school of 6 tinfoils IMO.

tiger barbs will get the crud beaten out of them by a kissing gourami, so adding them to this tank probably wont be the best idea.

adding an african butterfly fish is also not the best idea, since they tend to be very slow moving and "peacful." i can see a kissing gourami tearing straight through one if it wanted.

a bichir could work, perhaps. a sengal would be an ok addition.

puffers will not work, because most puffers that are substantial enough to be kept with a kissing gourami are either 1) brackish or 2) WAY to aggressive for even a kissing gourami or 3) to messy to keep with another substantial fish in a 75. puffers really shouldnt be kept with other fish to e honest.

other gouramis would get ripped to shreds by a kissing gourami. plus, it really is not advisable to keep gouramis with other gouramis. of course, there are some exceptions, but for the majoirty of species, keep one gourami per tank.

that would be aggression.
