So, my 40 gallon tank is settled, but still on the floor :(

So, when I found out that petco still had it's dollar per gallon sale up to 55 gal tanks, I started to think. It's dangerous for me to do, because then I get these annoying things called ideas :)

So, this idea is pretty simple: buy the tank, go to walmart and buy a stand for 55 gal tanks, and set the whole thing up in my moms house middle room.

This is a multi step plan. Step 1 is to ask mom if that's okay (duh). Step 2 is to do some measurements and find prices. Step 3 is to save up the money needed (probably between $150 and $200) and then make the buys. Step 4 is to fill and test tank and stand (outside of course). Step 5 is to fill and use declor. Then, once it's settle for a little, buy some sand and place 2in sand bed. Then I can go on to the next step. Step 6 is to stock the tank. I'll only be using what I already have, so it's a simple thing of shifting them from one tank to the other.

So, that's my dangerous and expensive idea, what do you sane people of AC think?

Also, anyone have experience with this stand: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Aqua-Culture-Deluxe-Aquarium-55-Stand-1-ct/10403807 ?

So, as someone with MTS (multiple tank syndrome) I have to say you are thinking about this all wrong. You absolutley should buy the 55. Then buy the cheap Iron stand because then....you can put the 40 on the bottom and the 55 on top. Takes up no more space....so that can't be an argument. So, then you go ahead and put all your stuff from 40 into 55 (because it won't cost anything WINK, WINK) Then you comb craigslist and internet sales until you find more filters etc and then before you know it...a 40 and a 55!
It's very important to ALWAYS be thinking where the next tank can go!

forgot to add! the you will have a 3rd tank and before you know it, on your own you will have over 10 tanks! lol

I already have a 40, 30, 20, and 10. So this would be one step higher. After this comes 75, then 120, then 250, then 300, then 500 :D

But really, is it an okay idea or is it dumb as crap?

This.

But...more tanks! The answer can always be found in another tank...
