55 gallon stocking

Platies are invicible. I just got some poor quality ones that didn't grow, try and get some decent ones lol

Man, I got 6 platties from petsmart a short while back (few weeks). All of them except 1 died. It was most likely my fault because the tank was going through some major changes and I probably changed or did something that caused the new fish to die. I don't blame petsmart, they have always, always given me good healthy fish. I suppose I'm lucky they take good care of them

I'm gonna get some more of the same type of platties, sunburst, so they all look the same.

I have 2 HOB filters stuffed with filter pads. Isn't it true that if I set up a filter with those pads filled with the bacteria that it instantly cycles the tank?
Have you considered one in the bathroom? Maybe make the bathtub into a fish tank if you have 2
lol I set-up 2 more last night haha up to 14 now. Just gonna run them w/ no heater for the warm season but ill start cycling them shortly. Keeping it simple, bare-bottom 10g and 20g Long for mostly fry and live-bearers to grow-out....."Summer-homes"

I got the 75 gallon today, I wasn't expecting to get it for several more months though. Anyway, I'll probably have the tank set up in a month. Gotta make a new stand for where the 55 is gonna go and do a few other things...

I forgot to mention that one of my plecos sadly died on vacation while my brother was looking after him.

I finally set up the 75, haha, it took over a month for me to do it. I was on my feet hauling buckets back and forth for 6 hours straight yesterday. Had to set up the stand (12 concrete blocks and a 4'X2' piece of wood), put the fish from my 55 in a 5 gallon bucket (one hurt himself somehow :/ ), empty it, take out a few handfuls of gravel (only had a light covering on the bottom by the gravel), drain it, then move it. Then I had my dad help me move the 75, filled it up, moved the filters that were on the 55 to the 75, put the fish from my 55 into the 75. Now I started filling my 55 up and I put a bit of the water from my 29 in it (29 sits higher then 29, I used my gravel vac to move the water), moved the fish from my 29 to my 55, then moved the filters from the 29 to my 55.
Let's just say, my feet still hurt today

What!? That is too many buckets, one bucket is too many buckets IMO lol. Time to invest in a python? Or make one yourself?

That's a lot of work overall too, every part of my body would be hurting. Pictures to show off all that effort? :)

I don't think the pictures showing the result of carrying all those 40+ lb buckets would be appropriate for posting here ;)
LOL you know that's not what I meant but since you mention it.... jk lol
