Is this lighting any good?

coralife makes an okay product. not the best, but they are pretty well made and do their job well. if you want to add corals, you can keep some LPS and softies alright with that. or if not, your tank will still vertainly look better than it would with a NO florecent fixture

I recently bought lights from Aqua Traders, they look identicle to the Coralife lights in every detail but are made in China. I got the 48" 260watt cp. So far I love them. They are so much better than what I had. Was like $127 w/shipping. I guess time will tell if I made a bad investment. I tried to find some feedback about them but couldn't find any, so made the decission to try them. Like I said, so far very very hapy with it. So are my fish :)

Those Coralife fixtures are pretty common on tanks down here where I live. We have one and it's been fine. It came with our tank when we bought it used, is at least 5 years old now, and the only thing I've done to it (other than replacing the bulbs) is change out a couple of the endcaps as they were getting brittle (a very simple and cheap repair).

If you have a canopy, you could retrofit lighting (even better lighting) for less than that fixture, but that's totally up to you and depends on what you want to keep in there down the road.
