Unusual and cool new small aquarium

Helping my wife clean up at her school, we ran across this little aquarium that was being discarded - Dimensions (approx) are 30 x 6 3/4 x 8 2/8 inches (LxWxH). It comes out to be ~6-7 gallons. It does not have any manufacturers stickers, but the glass is as thick as a regular 10gal, and the plastic frames (top & bottom) are thick.
I have no immediate use for it but the unusual size caught my fancy, so I kept it.
I have never seen one like it, specifically being so long (30" !) yet so small. I suppose it could be used to raise some fry for a while...
Placing a Fluval FX-6 manual in it for the picture is very much a joke (or not!), but they just happen to be about the same height.
Have you seen one like it?

It might be 10 gallon long, that was my 1st thought and it might be a custom or something.
I would put a betta in it, boy would be happy.

Looks like a bookshelf type stand, so not custom.

They can be good to grow plants, because of the lack of height, it's far easier to light

Cool! I am certainly keeping it.
It may become my replacement frogbit growing vat.
