Thinking of moving my male betta into my 55 with my zipper loach, kuhli loaches, and cory cats. Is this going to be a problem? Also if I add some neon, cardinal, and glowlight tetras is it going to be a war zone or will everyone get along? If teras won't work, but the bottom feeders well suggestions for tankmates other than mollies, platies, or swordtails?

Thanks.

From reading up on the zipper loaches it says that they are fin nippers. Not sure if this is right but if so then no. The other fish you've mentioned are all fine.

Now this is true depending on the temperament of your betta. I have my king betta in my 55g community tank and it is all well. But he was the last fish to go in and also was very peaceful initially. It would depend on the temperament of your betta.

Okay, my zipper loach tends to keep to himself unless others get in his space so I think he may be okay. I will probably move my betta in when I have time to observe and wait to sell the 5 gallon until I am sure if it will workout. Thanks for the feedback.

You can also test his temperament at the store. Put his cup next to all the other betta's and see which one won't flare too much. There is a chance that he is passive and won't be as much trouble. Though this isn't 100% sure to work >.>

I already have him and this weather is not conducive to betta field trips, however I will definately keep that in mind if I buy another betta : )

I have added his and if anything he is less aggressive swimming around in there than the 5 gallon. One of my cories swam in time with him next to him for almost a minute and he sat there and then swam away. So my only worries are adding fish that would swim at his level. My poor betta is kinda defective he doesn't flare when I tried to "exercise" him I have never seen him flare and he appears to have cataracts and doesn't see well. Pretty sad for a $15 betta, but he was my beautiful rescue so I certainly wasn't going to condemn him back to his little pet store cup.
