I introduced 8 mystery snails to my 55 on Tuesday. All seems to be going well. However, in the middle of the night the snails will have their siphons fully extended, but the snails are not high enough for the siphons to break the surface. Is this normal or does it mean there is some kind of deficiency?

Thanks!

Mine do this all the time, it's normal ;)

yer mine do the same normaly in the morning to, they look cool standing on top of a bridge stretching there syphons out..

That's perfectly normal. If they really need air they will go all the way up to the top and pump their heads in and out. The tip of the siphon will be just above the water line. Sometimes they just extend the tube for no reason at all while in the water. My goldie does that too. :]

Mine do it too. I just thought they were males showing off!!!!:thud: :D
