Angels are cichlids. No matter the species, cichlids in spawning mode will get quite nasty. Were they wild angels this might be less true, but for the domestic strains this will almost always be the case.
Of the three nitrogen test kits we in the hobby tend to use, the ones for nitrate are the least accurate. This is especially true when the levels being measured are between 0 and 20 ppm.
