Little SAE story...
The other morning just before I left for a day shift at 3:30am, I walked up to my 55 because it almost sounded like one of the filters wasn't running. In the process I startled one of my 2 SAEs to the point one flew out of the tank through a small gap at the back of my glass tops and plopped on the hardwood floor below! Oh man.. WAAAAY too early for this I thought.. I was able to quickly net him and plop him back in. I can't even tell which one it happened to. Tough fish!
I have heard they can live for 20+ years given excellent care. Ugh...
