I bought four otonciclus, alongside some other fish, snails and shrimp. Unfortunately. two of my new babies died within a few weeks , and that is when I started getting REALLY concerned that my catfish are not feeding on the extra food I give them (Like cucumbers (prepared in a millions ways I tried everything) or algae wafers). I have tried doing everything, but they only suck on to the glass (which doesn't have much algae on it) or on various plants in my aquarium. I tried placing the food in all different locations (where they usually like to hang out) but they never even try to eat it. I checked the water parameters and temperature and everything is okay and they are not showing any signs of sickness. BUT as I mentioned before a few still died, so after observing them for a month I can't come to any other conclusion than just straight up starvation. At this point, if I were to continue with experimenting with food snails would take over the tank ( I already have way too many and can see many more eggs). As you can probably tell, I am new to aquarium keeping, I try my best to research as much as possible and discuss with the owner of a fish store before doing anything, but now I am at my wits end, and I don't want anything bad to happen to my remaining two catfish.
( I am familiar with the fact that they are schooling fish and I need to give them some friends, but before I figure out what the issue is I am too scared to introduce anything else into my aquarium)
