l've had fish for over 4 years, but when i go to my local fish store i see a lot of salt water fish that look cool and take my liking. but what exactly do i have to do to take care of a salt water tank? do i need a certain salt? anything else but salt?

You mainly need a decent sized tank, maybe 30 gallons minimum, rock, salt, sump, skimmer, wave maker, and aesthetic lighting (for fish only), if you are going with corals then you need other lighting and maybe some other toys, but I recommend you start with only fish, this is just a start..

Saltwater can be as easy or hard as you make it. Here’s a basic reef I have. Something like this is very easy
