I just got a new 10 gallon and a stand. After assembly, I set the tank on top and noticed that it's not quite flush with the top of the stand -- one corner of the tank is a bit 'higher' than the stand's top.
The tank is supported only by the edges -- the stand is not a solid flat top. Here is a picture:

Should I attempt to put a soft mediating material between the tank bottom and the stand? I'm thinking of something like a thin sheet of Styrofoam that can help take some of the torque off of the tank when it's full of water.
The stand is metal, and cheap, and I don't think I can level the top of it easily. But I'm open to ideas.
Or is this not necessary with a tank so small?
