Is anyone familiar with these?I picked two up the other day. I was going to buy some Khulis, but it would have had to be a special order. Seems no one wants to stock them since they're never seen to be bought. When looking for alternatives the Zodiacs were suggested. I let them know that I was looking for something small for snail control. They assured me that these will not get much bigger then 3-4" and will eat snails. I've been watching them, but I haven't seen them eat anything yet. No snails, no flakes, no freeze dried blood worms.

The coloring is real close, and the striping is similar. I don't see any spots on mine, just the stripes. Also, those are two different scientific names, but they both reference the same common name. Are they the ssame fish? They sure look it. I'll try to get a picture later, though the camera I have access to doens't take the greatest pictures.

Been a bit now, and I've concluded that these are VERY shy, or dead somewhere. I've since also gotten 2 khuli loaches, and they pop out during late evening and all night long (I'm up all night). But I dont' see the Zodiacs. Anywhere. I'm thinking about running my fingers through the substrate to see if they're in there. I'll be getting a second tank tomorrow and was planning on putting the Zodiacs in there.

As an aside, when bloodworms are suggested as food, is freeze dried acceptable, or should it be fresh somehow? And is just dropping them in so they float on the surface fine, or do they need to be taken down to to substrate somehow?

My loaches seem to prefer their food on the bottom but they will swim up to midlevel and grab anything they see that looks appetizing.
