I have a male guppy that has white stringy poo. He doesn't swim around much and only eats a tiny bit. I QT'd and used jungle parasite clear since I've read that stringy white poo often means an internal parasite. I also gave him a pea in case it's constipation. He still has the weird poop but seems a little more lively. It says on the bottle that you can repeat treatment after 48 hours. Should I treat again tomorrow if he still has the white stringy stuff? Could it possibly be something else? Should I add any salt to the water? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Take this for what it's worth, back many years ago when I kept discus the poop deal was bad news. The only times I was successful in clearing this up was to elevate the temperature and try to get them to eat some medicated food, not the easiest thing to do.

Got desperate enough several times was using a vet friend and injecting the meds. Pretty radical thing to do 15 years ago.

Higher temp and a little salt couldn't hurt but bear in mind that discus can tolerate a lot higher temps than most other tropicals.

Not much help but good luck.

Looks like you have ok meds.Prazi and metro.treat a second time and if not eating a third.Same dose same time interval between tratments.Change 25% before treatment.
