I am 99% ready for my figure 8s that I'm planning on getting...The only thing I lack is the snails to feed them.
I have no clue where to get snails! I keep reading that ramshorn and apple and pond snails are the best things to feed, but nobody has those. I found one place with mystery snails but those are too hard. I am about to just buy some off ebay, but I figured I'd ask here first.
Where's a good place to get one of these types of snails?
I have a tank that I am going to breed them in, so I'll have babies to feed to the puffer.

I went to my local pet stores and they had a bunch that came in on some plants. They gave me all of mine for free. Check in the planted tanks and ask about them. Don't feed apple or mystery snails, they take too long to reproduce. My local petsmart had malaysian trumpet snails and pond snails over running their tanks. Otherwise you could try here on the forum. in the Buy and Sell section. Most of the time you can get a bunch of snails and only have to pay shipping. Once you have a few they are easy to breed.

One of my local LFS gave me as many free snails as I wanted for the puff I had.

People here are bound to have some. I don't let mine reproduce too much but I could certainly send you some "starter" ramshorns for the cost of shipping.

Well, it's pretty easy.
1. Set up the new tank.
2. Wish to the heavenly stars that there will be no snails in your tank.
3. Snails appear.

You should ask your local stores first if they can give you a few pest snails, but if not, put a flyer on the classifieds and someone will come along and roak you some.

If you need I can give you some for the cost of shipping. I have a ton of ramshorns and ponds. I don't feed apple snails to my puffer - to me, apple snails are pets! LOL.

My rams are a variety of colors and pretty too look at as well as a good food source, lol.

Thanks guys! I am getting some snails now!
And yeah, I had tried all my lfs, they are apparently very good at keeping those snails out of their stores. There's a reef shop in town (I happen to know the owner) and I knew they had puffers and asked where they got their snails and they told me which store but when I called the store they said they just got rid of all of them after they clogged the filters too many times. It was just my luck, lol!
