Where do people get these aquariums pots?

Forever? I think it took about 10 minutes, used 2-3 discs. There were spots that seemed to be more dense than others.
I soaked the pot until it was saturated. Trace a line with a pencil. Etch the line first and then keep going over the etch until you're through. If you just try cutting through the entire thickness at one end and going to the other, well...that would probably take FOREVER! :)

Hey kveeti! Good to see you still around! Maybe you have been, just not where I have. Anyway, don't feel like you're not missed!:)

I made this with a dremel and never used it...

Its a good thing there is no java moss around that opening...

You never used it, or the fish never used it? I make mine with an upside down "U" cut from the bottom similar to your...hole.

oh so thats how you do it. beviking, you shoulda told me this before. i just tried grinding down 1 edge until i got to the other side. i guess that would work, didnt know thats how it was done but then sometimes i still think if i want a nice coat of paint i lay it down in 1 thick layer.

i cut terra cotta up with a carbide blade, for a jig saw i got at home depot, held in place on a wood dowel with a hose clamp. it works good and only cost like 2 bucks. they also sell carbide whole saws that quickly cut holes in clay pots but they are kinda pricey.

a small pot only takes a minute or two

Heh, surprised no one suggested a jack hammer. I think a lot of it depends upon personality. Anal types can go for perfection and use tools and etch out doorways. In the meantime those of us who work with idiots daily can use our hammers. :D

Anal? Who you calling anal...oh wait a minute, I think my cuticle needs work...:D

BTW, does the jackhammer work on the idiot you work with? I would love to find out...
