cause i have two, and they're either low on the ground doing nothing, or right at the tippy top of the tank, next to my heaters..again, doing nothing.

they're very boring :[

They usually have hot dog eating contests and get into breakdance battles. I don't know why yours are being so boring.

Look for a gonopodium for males.

Most livebearers are active when kept in groups with a 1m:3-4f ratio. You'll end up with fry but thats when they feel most comfortable IME.

ah, both females.

would that explain their calm, boring nature? i want them to be happy..are they not happy you think?

id love to see fry and etc. ive never had anything like that in my tank before, so it'd be cool to see, however the platys i got were gifts and they arent my favorite fish, as they arent tight cool schoolers like im into. but maybe ill have to look into it..

I'm not a mind reader ;)

But yes, they will most definitely produce fry but usually you will not see many survive unless A) you remove fry or B) have a moderately planted tank. Most fish including the parents will gobble them up in no time.

If there's just the 2 Platy in the tank I imagine they're bored. They;re probably sitting around asking each other if this is all there is to life lol If the tank's just a 10 g you could put 5-6 Cardinals in. They're colorful and active and may bring the Platys out of their shell. You know....get em' back into breakdancing an all that.
