I'm looking to find some fittings for my python hose on the way home, I was wondering if anyone knows what size the hose off hand.

its 5/8" tubing.... purchase 5/8" fittings.

Thanks guys!
I cut the gravel vac off my python hose and used it on my DIY CO2 reactor. I will be needing some kind of U fittings or something so I can just hang the hose on the side of the tank while filling. I don't have a glass top on my tank so I have nothing to hold the hose if I need to move away from the tank.

Best you can do is get a couple of elbows to make the "U", since your using tubing it sort of limits you to barbed fittings.

If you want to get creative you can try to find some solid PVC fittings that you can snugly put the tubing into, and glue it in place. that will result in a smaller more compact "U".

all kinds of ways to get creative here :)

dr_sudz .... I have already called Python, and done all the digging to determine that the tube is in fact 5/8" ...... though the measurements (IIRC) are closer to 7/16".

believe it or not I went through about 7 people before finnally one guy comes on the phone and says "5/8" tubing, needs 5/8" fittings" (impossible to find for the most part)

Just make sure when you are finding fittings, clearly state that you are looking for x ID or y OD .....

5/8" hose has a 5/8" OD .... if you go and buy a fitting for a 5/8" ID hose, you will find the fittings MUCH too large (again.... from experience lol)

Thanks darksoul. I did search online for options on the elbow and I did arrive at the same thing you suggested, 2 90's to make a U which would work just fine. I just needed some sort of hanger.

Thanks, still have not made it to the hardware store yet. I'm thinking maybe I can heat up a 90 elbow and form it to a U :)

yup, you could. need to be careful though.

find a spring that will fit snugly over the elbow, and is fairly tightly wound.

get your heat gun, and heat it up until it is maliable, but not entirely soft..... bend the spring, and it will help the elbow keep its shape.

OR, a spring that will fit INSIDE the elbow... same idea.... you could also do both.
