I have a 30 gallon hexagon that had nothing in it at this time. I wanted to put a pair of Angels in it. Would this be ok? Im open to any advice and ideas.
Thanks!
I think you would be fine with 2 angels in a 30 gallon hex but i would put this in there.....
1 crowntail betta
3 otto's
1 big apple snail
10-15 ghost shrimp
1 amazon sword
1 anubas(i think thats what their called)
a few rocks with some caves
black gravel with black backround to help see the shrimp and bring out the bettas color
With a couple Angels, you can also get a bottom dweller, like bigger corys.. Don't go too big on the bottom (like Kribs for example) because a hex doesn't have much bottom room.
What would I do? Make a cave! I'd use sheets of styrofoam and QuikCrete to create funky rock walls on four sides with some overhangs part way up for visual interest... use a dim light (just enough to see) over the top shining in at an angle like sunlight through a cave entrance, a few (artificial) plants near the top and a group of blind cave fish. It's an adaptation of a biotope tank layout I read in a book called 'Aquarium Designs' by Peter Hiscock, I've wanted to make a cave tank for ages. I'm sure it's not for everyone, but hey - you did ask what I'd do!
Those are all great ideas. I didnt get to see your dart frog one though because the link didnt work.
I still think I really want a pair of angels. Maybe I will go with some corys too for the bottom.
Thank you all for the help and advice
I didn't like my 20g acrylic hex tank either. After I emptied it, I laid it on the living room floor where my cat, Bernie, jumped into it. Makes a good cat house.
Interesting Ideas however my uncle already has a hat that he likes and my cat already has a few cat trees *lol* But really do you think just two angels would work out ok in the tank?
