When I bought these fish several months ago, my LFS had them labelled as Strawberry Tetras. I had never thought differently until a friend said they're glass fish. Mine have white-ish bodies, not clear, see-through bodies, and the pink line isn't quite as vibrant as the picture. The lights made it more pink. I don't think they're glass fish as I've seen glass fish and they're totally see-through. Mine don't seem any more see-through than any of my other fish. And the poor glass fish I've seen that are injected with dye, well the color looks fake and awful. Please tell me this isn't a painted glass fish!
I didn't know better at the time, now I do. I've printed the article that SomethingFishy linked (thanks so much), and I'm taking it to my LFS at my next possible opportunity. It's a good store, so I won't judge them until I talk to them, but they must know what has been done to these fish, so I'm going to have a hard time not showing my disgust when I walk in door.
